Within Bonfim itself, there are several city attractions worth visiting. These include some striking churches: Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Bonfim and Igreja de Santo Ildefonso. You can also enjoy a pleasant garden stroll in Jardim das Virtudes and along the cute shopping strip of Rua de Santa Catarina. And after this, having a coffee and cake at one of Bonfim’s excellent cafés is a great choice.

In terms of accommodation, Bonfim is predominantly known for its mid-range hotels: not too expensive but with all the necessities for a very pleasant stay in Porto. That being said, you can certainly find more upmarket hotels towards the Douro River, and there are budget options available too.

A final area that makes for a fantastic place to stay in Porto is Boavista. Long touted as Porto’s business district, Boavista has boomed in tourism popularity in recent years. This is thanks to its thriving culture, world-class architecture, and excellent places to stay.

In the city’s north, well-connected to downtown Porto by public transport, Boavista is a fairly affluent area. If you love five-star hotels or other luxury places to stay, you will find no shortage here. However, there are still several budget guesthouses and mid-range places to stay, so you don’t have to be rich!

As well as beautiful architecture and top-quality hotels, Boavista is also home to some of Porto’s finest attractions.
